HORSHAM, Pa., Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, a more than 165-year-old company, is pleased to announce that its Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Paul C. Jeffers as Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer.

Jeffers will be responsible for defining and implementing human resources strategies and programs that are aligned with Penn Mutual’s culture and values as the company continues to advance its long-term strategy.

Laurel, N.J. Prior to that, Paul was Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Advanta, Corp., in Spring House, Pa., supporting Advanta’s domestic and international businesses, improving efficiencies and driving service excellence.

Paul was also Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer with SunGard Data Systems, Inc., in Wayne, Pa. At SunGard, Paul had global responsibility for human resources activities for more than 16,000 employees. He also held human resources leadership positions with First USA, in Wilmington, Del., and Ernst & Young LLP in Philadelphia.

Jeffers received a B.S. in Business Administration from LaSalle University and an M.S. in Human Resources Management from Widener University. He resides in Collegeville, Pa.
