RESTON, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Today, Gilman Louie has been appointed as the first Chairman of the Board of Vricon, Inc.

Vricon is a newly formed joint venture between Saab AB and DigitalGlobe (NYSE: DGI). The company’s mission is to create a digital model of the Globe in 3D by producing photo-realistic 3D products and digital elevation models globally for enterprise and government geospatial markets with unmatched coverage and delivery timelines.

“We are delighted that Gilman Louie has accepted to stand for election as Chairman of Vricon, Inc.,” said Dan Jangblad, Senior Vice President of Saab AB.

“Gilman Louie brings intimate knowledge of disruptive technologies for defense, security and infrastructure markets and has an excellent track record as a leader in these fields,” said Dan Jablonsky, Vricon board member and Senior Vice President at DigitalGlobe.

“I am honored to be nominated as Chairman of the Board and look forward to working with the management of Vricon, DigitalGlobe, and Saab AB to grow the company and expand its markets,” said Gilman Louie. “Three-dimensional situational awareness and mapping applications are critical for informed decision making.
