Howard Kogan will join WordStream as President on June 12
WordStream Inc., a leading provider of online advertising software and services, has added some serious horsepower to an already strong executive team. Building atop an exciting start to 2017 and incredible growth, WordStream has tapped former C Space President and COO Howard Kogan to step into the new role of President.
The hire comes on the heels a very busy year for WordStream. Since January, the company has been recognized as an Inc. 5000 fastest-growing company for the fourth time and made its first acquisition, the California-based Algorithmic Ads, whose software helps businesses quickly generate effective display ads based on their existing website imagery. The move to expand the executive team—especially with a leader well-versed in scaling companies—will position the company to maintain startup-like agility and focus during continued rapid growth.
Kogan joins WordStream after spending the last seven years scaling the Omnicom-owned C Space, which helps brands rethink the role of customers from sales target to strategic asset. Before assuming his role at C Space, Kogan served as President of Molecular, an interactive agency founded by WordStream CEO Ralph Folz. In addition to his executive role, Kogan serves on the board of directors for America SCORES Boston, which empowers youth to create positive change in their communities, and AnswerLab, a company that helps the world’s leading brands build engaging user experiences across digital platforms.
With Kogan at the helm to manage WordStream’s day-to-day operations, Folz will remain with the company as CEO, assuming more of an outward-facing role that includes pursuing future acquisitions, managing WordStream’s partnerships with companies like Google, Bing, and Facebook, and exploring new partnership opportunities to further fuel growth.
“Having worked with Howard before, I know just how much he’s going to bring to the table,” said Folz. “He’s a great guy with exceptional values, and we’re thrilled to bring him on board.”
“I’ve been watching WordStream grow for a long time, and I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the team and helping lead this great group of people as we encounter even bigger opportunities,” Kogan said.
Kogan will join WordStream in earnest on June 12.
